Sheringham Distillery is on a mission to make the world’s most drinkable gin, prioritizing sustainability and quality ingredients with a chef’s approach to distilling.
As a chef, Jason has spent more than twenty years mastering the principles of creating balanced flavor profiles in food. The skills needed to find harmony in high-quality ingredients in the kitchen are the same principles that apply to distilling exquisite gin. Every chef has the same ingredients in their pantry, but the skill lies in how they balance each flavor to create a unique outcome. This is the approach Sheringham takes with gin.
Sheringham believes that gin should be sippable, approachable, and balanced. They’ve created a gin that’s an everyday luxury by focusing on high-quality, curated ingredients that complement each other on the rocks or in a cocktail. Each of Sheringham’s spirits has a story and is tied to the terroir where they were created. These developments have led to Sheringham’s flagship Seaside Gin taking home the World’s Best Contemporary Gin award.
Sheringham believes that business sustainability is crucial to help our world today and ensure that future generations can also thrive. Their sustainable initiatives include: utilizing winged kelp in their Seaside Gin which is sustainably harvested by a licensed biologist from their home on Canada’s West Coast; giving a percentage of all their proceeds to SeaLegacy (an organization with a mission of creating healthy and abundant oceans through the power of visual storytelling; and their goal is to be carbon neutral by 2023.
You can find Sheringham’s Seaside Gin and Kazuki Gin growing across Canada and internationally. Sheringham’s Test Kitchen spirits like Akvavit, Lemon Gin, Rhubarb Gin, and Coffee Liqueur can be found in select stores and Sheringham’s tasting room.
