Enhancing Quality of Life for All Powell River's Citizens
The City of Powell River’s Parks, Recreation & Culture department strives to enhance the quality of life for all citizens through the facilitation of recreation services, providing and maintaining parks and green space, and supporting the arts and culture in a positive, healthy, and equitable manner. The Department operates and maintains facilities that offer a wide variety of arts, cultural, fitness, and indoor recreation opportunities. It also services the outdoor recreational needs of the community by maintaining several neighborhood parks, sports fields and trails. You can learn something new, socialize with other like-minded individuals, or get fit and stay fit. Take advantage of the many opportunities offered at their wonderful, well-equipped recreation and arts facilities along with the many beautiful parks located throughout the city. Their department also maintains strong bonds with several community organizations, from minor sports groups to cultural organizations that utilize their facilities and services to deliver a wide range of programs and events throughout the year. Their goal is to make Powell River one of the healthiest and most active communities in British Columbia.Links
